Liam Byrne, MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill today commented on the news that Allan Amey has stepped down as Chief Executive of LDV, to take up a consultancy role until his retirement in May 2006.

‘Alan Amey's leadership of LDV over the past few years will be an extremely hard act to follow. LDV's new owners will have to look far and wide for a man who better represents the aspirations of the LDV workforce. Alan's leadership has made a massive impact on the West Midlands manufacturing industry'.

‘Alan leaves LDV with a world class product in the Maxus van range. I just hope the new owners find a world class leader quickly to take the company forward to stability and prosperity.'
