| How could you use up to £1000 to improve our community? |
| |
O2 have launched a new community fund giving people the chance to make improvements to their local environment. Awards of up to £1,000 are available to support local environmental, urban renewal and conservation projects and is available for both groups and individuals.
Funding can be used for a wide range of uses such as hiring tools and equipment, purchasing plants, paint, signs and materials. Examples of projects that could receive funding include turning derelict land into a wildlife area or planting flowers in the High Street.

| GALLOWAY VICTORY UPDATE |

Liam has now received word from Central Networks that all of the houses on Galloway Avenue due for demolition have been disconnected.
The electricity company have also told Liam that the council have now agreed to follow a new policy of keeping all housing keys under one person to avoid such a mess happening again.
Liam said
"The council's last excuse has now gone. We have been given categorical assurances that these houses can now be demolished - we'll all be keeping close watch to make sure the council finally do their job!" |

| HODGE HILL MP CALLS FOR UNITY |

Liam today called for unity among local residents following police investigations locally . The Hodge Hill MP has been fully briefed on the operation from the start, and congratulated police officers on a rapid operation.
Liam said
"I would like to congratulate the police on a rapid operation."
"At this time it is essential that all residents in Hodge Hill continue to stand united in our belief that terrorism can only be defeated by the whole community acting in concert."
“I will be monitoring the situation as it unfolds, and I have written to the local police force asking them to step up protection and reassurance measures in our community."
Cllr Ansar Ali Khan, Chairman of Hodge Hill District said
“Washwood Heath is a very diverse and peaceful ward. At this difficult time it’s crucial that we stand together as a community, and allow the police to carry on with their investigation.”

| BYRNE WARNS GO LEGAL OR FACE THE CRUSH |

Liam Byrne, MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill today warned owners of mini moto bikes to ride their bikes legally or face tough new punishments brought in this week by the Respect Task Force.
Thanks to pressure from Liam, Hodge Hill is one of only a handful of constituencies around the country that have been given additional money and powers to crack down on the mini moto menace. Liam’s action follow complaints from scores of local residents about the noise and danger mini mopeds pose.
