Liam Byrne MP has today announced a breakthrough in his battle to get a giant new health centre for the Bromford and Firs estate in Hodge Hill.
Following the Hodge Hill MP’s campaign with local residents, the city council has agreed to sell crucial land on Roughlea Road to the NHS so the health centre can be developed.
Liam said:
“This is a victory for common sense. I want to thank the hundreds of local residents who backed our campaign to get this giant, state of the art health centre built.”
The site is over an acre in size and the building will be a cutting-edge design with state of the art facilities to serve an area with some of the worst health outcomes in the region.
Liam is now calling on the NHS to work with Travel West Midlands to make sure the new site is easy to access for residents across the Bromford.
Liam added:
“I want Travel West Midlands to play their part in making sure everyone can get the care they need easily. The Bromford and Firs deserves the best – and now, at last, it looks like we might get it.”
