Liam was last week appointed by Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the new government role of Minister for the West Midlands.
Liam said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed the Minister for the West Midlands. It’s going to be about standing up for the area in parliament and making sure things are getting done. In many ways I’m going to be the minister for knocking heads together.”
He added:
“It’s a great region and I’m going to be responsible for making sure we get our fair share, that the billions of investment the area is receiving is spent well. We need to cut red tape whilst building more affordable homes, improving transport and safeguarding jobs and our local industries. I’m relishing the role.” |
