Liam Byrne took his plans for Hodge Hill in 2020 to leading regeneration agencies Advantage West Midlands (AWM), and East Birmingham and North Solihull Regeneration Zone (EBNS) last week.
HH2020 is the vision for the future of Hodge Hill developed by the MP in a series of residents' meetings, roundtable discussions and conferences with residents. It focuses on four themes: a sport corridor, an urban village to provide high quality housing, an engineering sector to provide local jobs and a retail quarter to grow the opportunities in Washwood Heath and Alum Rock.
The MP for Hodge Hill launched the vision with young people in March this year, now he is convening a partnership for action.
Liam said:
"I want to make sure the money the government is putting on the table for the region comes to Hodge Hill.
Our work has drawn up blueprints for action because I said I wanted to put the community in charge of change, not bureaucrats.
Today’s summit with the region's top regeneration specialists delivered their sign up and support to help drive our plans through."
