Liam Byrne today handed over a dossier of complaints about crack houses and drug dealing to the police and housing authorities.
The Member of Parliament for Birmingham Hodge Hill was given the information by residents as part of a survey and ongoing campaign for more police on the streets.
Following Byrne’s campaign, four crack houses have been closed in the Hodge Hill area and a further four are being targeted by law enforcement agencies.
The survey was completed as crime in Birmingham dramatically decreased. Of the 8 major cities in the country Birmingham has the lowest crime rate.
Liam said:
"Our campaign for neighbourhood policing is already delivering lower crime, but we need to go further."
"I’m pleased to support our law enforcement officials by passing information in confidence to help them fight crime to make Hodge Hill a better place to live."
